In 2022, Danny from East Yorkshire received life-changing news — his son Bear was diagnosed with autism, dyslexia, and a cognitive speech disorder.
Rather than reaching for generic tools, Danny started creating communication books for Bear by hand — illustrations Bear could genuinely connect with, not the flat, clinical clip-art that most PECS resources relied on. Bear responded. And everything changed.
Four years on, Bear is 8 years old — and he's no longer just the inspiration. He's an active co-creator. Bear now helps design and handcraft every single book that leaves their door, adding his own bold, vibrant, unmistakably unique artistic touch to each one.
That's how Bears Sensory World grew — out of a father's love, four years of real lived experience, and one remarkable eight-year-old's extraordinary creativity. Every book carries both of them.
